BW Photo Booth – a brand, a team

We are BW Photo Booth team and we are here to help you immortalize the special moments of your life! Whether it’s a funny moment, spontaneous shopping session in a mall, or you want your party to be unforgettable – you can immortalize them with the help of photo booths! And if you want something truly innovative, we have the solution: a photo booth inside a completely restored historic car!

BW Photo Booth was born in 2009 to bring joy, fun and unique memories to any event and mall. Since 2010 we have been present in most shopping centers in the main cities of the country, where our photo booths are always ready for funny photo sessions, thematic photos, or ID type photos for different IDs or diplomas. We started with a single photo booth in VIVO! Cluj-Napoca, but since then you can find us in 23 locations all around the country. Continuous innovation is the engine of our company.
That’s why besides the photo booths available in shopping centers, since 2013 we immortalize the special moments of friends, family or closed ones at private and corporate events of any kind with portable photo booths. The success of the photo booth at parties is attested by the long queues that form in waiting for the photo shoot, a fun photo session with friends or co-workers

To surprise your guests and keep a pleasant memory of your event, since 2018, you can now rent BW Photo Bus, a historic car completely restored and transformed into a four-wheeled photo booth! It’s the classic photo booth you know from the most successful parties with your friends, but in a friendlier way and with a wow appearance! Imagine a 1972 orange car called Hippie Van, parked at your party, and waiting for your guests to take pictures! Cool, right?

A SHORT HISTORY OF PHOTO BOOTHS

Photo booths began to appear in the last two decades of the nineteenth century. The first cameras of this kind captured the photographs through the technology of the pherotype; During the 1890s, even the photo booths operating with coins appeared. A pioneer in the field of this type of photography was Conrad Bernitt. His cabin – also known as “Bosco-Automat” – appeared in 1890 and in a very short time it became an indefinite piece of fairs, exhibitions and concerts. In addition to the pictures taken by Bosco-Automat, the public had the opportunity to buy small photo frames carefully manufactured to be kept, if necessary, even in purses. In 1896 the technology used in photo-camera photography was revolutionized by the German Car Sasse; then, in the early part of the 1920s, a traveler and inventor of Russian origin, Anatol Josephewitz (Josepho) was the one who played the most important role in developing photo booths. Around 1909, the young Anatol Josephewitz arrived from Russia to Berlin, where he worked at a photo studio and began training to become a photographer. During this period he began to think of a more efficient, cheaper, safer and faster way of photographing. In the following years he moved to New York, then to Budapest. Here, at just 19 years old, he began to produce the first sketches of a photo machine. When the final sketch was completed in 1921, he was already in Shanghai, and in 1925 the first prototype photo booth was built in New York. It was equipped with curtains so as not to leave light in the cabin when shooting, which gives the photos a better quality. The shooting process takes about 10 minutes; paying 25 cents, people received 8 printed photos. The fashion of the instant photos has had an impact on the American public, and from that moment on the popularity of the photo booths has been constantly increasing.
